Chattanooga is home to an abundance of parks, cultural attractions, and natural resources that reflect important people, places, and events in American history. The Chattanooga Adventure Series invites students, educators, and families to engage in that history with augmented reality experiences, online after-school adventures, school field trips, family field trips and more!

Chattanooga History at Coolidge Park

May 17

This school-based experience is not a public event. 

Family Field Trip - Nightfall Series

May 27 - September 2

Each Friday night families are invited to register to join a Family Field Trip exploring a different part of Chattanooga's history. Adventures take approximately 40 minutes & registration is required. Look for Chattanooga Adventures tent in the Art Market!

Summer Adventures Coolidge Park Series

June 9 - July 28

Each Thursday from 1-3 PM students are invited to register for a free learning adventure. Adventures start at Outdoor Chattanooga in Coolidge Park and students will explore Coolidge Park, Renaissance Park, the Walnut Street Bridge, Ross's Landing and Aquarium Plaza. Registration and parent permission slip are required.

Fall 2022 Field Trips (Title I Schools)

Educators in Title I Hamilton County Schools are invited to apply. Bus, snacks and fees included.

Ross's Landing & Southern Belle: Early Nation & Westward Expansion

This river journey connects the Revolutionary War, Westward Expansion, the Trail of Tears and more with activities and augmented reality experiences that invite students to travel through history aboard the Southern Belle and in a land-based activity at Ross's Landing. 

Coolidge Park, Renaissance Park & Walnut Street Bridge

Students are engaged in lessons that connect prehistory, founding of the nation, and the Civil War. 

Audubon Acres & Early Chattanooga

TBD

Students are engaged in activities and discussion that introduce them to Chattanooga's Indigenous pre-history, life in Cherokee villages, and the cultural advances and contributions of the Cherokee people. 

Funding is provided for bus transportation, on-site snack and fees. Educators in Title I HCS schools are encouraged to submit.
